Node Profile, Content Profile and the future...

Some time ago I started a discussion about the profiles as nodes modules in drupal 6 (link). I'd like to see node profile and the bio module merged into one superior module!

There was a lot of input in the discussion and most people (including me) agreed on variant 2 "build upon a small base module". This means we build a small, well tested simple profile-as-node solution, which can be further extended by other modules.

So I started working on this and created the Content Profile module - a simple module without dependencies.

Unfortunately it's lacking feedback! So if you are interested in "profile-as-nodes" check out content profile, test it and help improving it!

Update: Beta 1 is out, check it out: http://drupal.org/node/223287

Could you provide an alpha or beta release for content profile on its project page?

That would help on getting more people to use it.

I had created it before I've written the blog post. Now the drupal cron job has it already created: http://drupal.org/node/219468

I may have checked too early.

Any chance you make a 5.x version for this module?

Use nodeprofile or bio.

I assume an upgrade from Drupal 5 with Node Profile to Drupal 6 with Content Profile would be pretty easy. Will your designated profile content type admin page just have a "content profile" tab? Thanks for all your great work!
